Split PDF Pages Online — Free PDF Page Splitter

Splitting a PDF into individual pages — or into custom page ranges — is the inverse of merging, and just as common. You receive a long report and only need page 12. A scanned book is one big PDF but you want one chapter as a separate file. The Split PDF Pages tool handles both cases for free, in seconds.

The tool runs entirely in your browser. Drop the PDF, pick the pages or ranges you want, and download either a single extracted PDF or a ZIP containing one file per range. There is no signup, no watermark, and no upload to any server.

Pick one page, a custom range like 5–8, or extract every page as a separate PDF. The interface is built for both quick one-page extractions and bulk splitting of long documents.

Why use this tool

Splitting a PDF properly preserves text, fonts, signatures, and layout exactly. Here is what the Split PDF Pages tool delivers:

  • Extract any pages or ranges

Pick a single page, a comma-separated list, a hyphenated range, or every page at once. The output matches your selection exactly.

  • Lossless page copy

Pages are copied byte-for-byte from the source PDF. Text remains selectable, fonts stay crisp, and signatures are preserved.

  • Multiple-file output

Split into one PDF per range, or one PDF per page. Multi-file outputs are bundled into a ZIP for easy download.

  • Browser-based privacy

Splitting runs locally. Confidential reports, signed contracts, and personal documents never leave your device.

  • Free, unlimited use

No daily caps, no signup, no watermark. Use it as much as you want.

  • Works on mobile

Split PDFs from your phone or tablet in any modern browser, with no app install needed.

How It Works

Splitting a PDF is three steps. Everything happens in your browser.

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF

Drop the PDF onto the tool or browse from your device. A page-by-page thumbnail preview helps you pick the right pages.

  2. 2

    Choose pages or ranges

Select individual pages, type custom ranges (e.g. 1-3, 5, 8-10), or click Split Every Page for one-PDF-per-page output.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Save the extracted PDF directly, or download a ZIP if your split produced multiple output files.

Common reasons to split a PDF

Extracting one chapter from a long ebook or report. Pulling out a single invoice from a combined billing PDF. Removing personal pages from a document before sharing the rest. Sending only the signed pages of a contract instead of the whole file. Building a smaller version of a document for email by dropping unnecessary pages.

All of those use cases are solved the same way: identify the page or pages you want, split them out, and discard the rest.

How the Split PDF tool works

pdf-lib parses the source PDF and exposes its pages as individual objects. The split operation copies the selected pages — references, fonts, images, and all — into a new PDF document. Because the copy is reference-based rather than rendering-based, the operation is lossless and almost instant even for very long source PDFs.

When you split into multiple outputs (for example, one PDF per page), each output is built the same way and the collection is zipped together using JSZip for a single download.

Tips for splitting PDFs cleanly

If your source PDF has bookmarks, those bookmarks will not automatically appear in the split outputs. You can regenerate them in a PDF editor afterwards if needed.

When extracting a single page out of a large PDF, the output file size is much smaller than the source — sometimes by 95 percent — because all the unused page resources are dropped.

If you need to remove specific pages rather than extract them, use the Delete Pages tool instead, which is designed around that direction.

Privacy when splitting sensitive PDFs

Splitting PDFs often involves redacting or extracting confidential content. iLoveeIMG runs the split entirely in the browser using pdf-lib. There is no upload, no temporary server-side copy, and no log of the operation.

That makes the tool safer than backend splitters for legal documents, medical reports, financial statements, and any PDF you would not casually upload to a stranger's server.
