Excel to PDF

Excel is the right format for editing data, but it is the wrong format for sharing or archiving. Spreadsheets shift on different versions of Excel, lose conditional formatting in older clients, and can be silently modified. Converting to PDF locks the data in place: every recipient sees the same rows, the same totals, and the same formatting.

Common reasons to convert Excel to PDF include sending a financial summary to a client, sharing a project status report with stakeholders who do not use Excel, archiving year-end reports, submitting numerical data to a regulator, attaching tabular evidence to a contract, or printing inventories for warehouse staff.

The tool uses the SheetJS library to parse the .xlsx file into a structured representation of sheets, rows, and cells. Each sheet is rendered into a styled HTML table that mirrors the original column widths and row heights. The rendered tables are placed in a hidden iframe and handed to your browser's print engine, which produces a real PDF with proper pagination.

Because the browser handles PDF generation, you get high-quality font rendering, vector text, and consistent page sizing — the same output you would get from File → Print → Save as PDF in Excel itself.

Before converting, hide rows and columns that you do not need in the PDF — the tool exports everything visible. If your spreadsheet has very wide tables, set the print orientation to landscape in your browser's print dialog so columns are not cut off.

Use cell formatting in Excel (bold headers, colour shading, borders) before converting — those visual styles carry through to the PDF. Avoid extremely large workbooks (more than 50,000 rows per sheet) in the browser; for very large data sets, split the workbook first.

Excel files often contain confidential business data — salary information, customer lists, financial forecasts, internal pricing. Uploading these to a server-based converter exposes them to logging and possible retention.
