Stamp a text watermark — like CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, or a company name — onto every page of a PDF. Control position, size, opacity, and rotation. Everything runs in your browser; the PDF never leaves your device.
For internal-only documents, a centered 45° "CONFIDENTIAL" watermark at 30% opacity is the standard. It's visible enough to deter copying without making the underlying text hard to read.
Stamp drafts with "DRAFT" in red, low opacity. When the document is finalized, you can't easily remove the watermark — instead, re-export the original source as a new PDF or use Merge PDF to rebuild the final from scratch.
A subtle company name in a corner is a soft branding option for shared reports. Use small font size, low opacity, and pick the corner that won't overlap with page numbers or headers.
Text watermarks are visible, not secure. They deter casual copying but a determined user with PDF editing software can remove them. For real protection, combine watermarking with password protection from a desktop tool.
Watermarking runs entirely in your browser via pdf-lib. The PDF and watermark text never get uploaded to a server, no account is required, and no data is retained.
Watermark as many PDFs as you need, with no daily caps and no "made with X" trailer on the output. Free for both personal and commercial use.
