PNG to JPG Online — Convert PNG to JPG Free, Fast & Browser-Based

PNG is a lossless format, which is fantastic for screenshots and graphics with sharp edges, but disastrous for file size when you have a photograph. Switching from PNG to JPG cuts the size of a typical photo by 80 percent or more with virtually no visible difference. The PNG to JPG Online tool does that conversion in a single click.

Conversion is free, runs in your browser, and applies no watermark to the output. Drop a PNG, choose JPG quality, and download a smaller JPG that is portal-ready and email-friendly.

Why use this tool

PNG to JPG conversion is one of the easiest ways to drop file size without anyone noticing. Here is what you get:

  • Massive file size reduction

For natural photographs, JPG is typically 5 to 10 times smaller than the equivalent PNG at the same visual quality.

  • Quality control

Pick a JPG quality from 60 to 95 to choose between maximum compression and maximum fidelity, with live preview.

  • Browser-only privacy

Conversion happens in your browser using the native image encoder. PNG files are never uploaded to a server.

  • Batch capable

Convert multiple PNGs to JPG in one session without page reloads. Each output is downloaded individually.

  • Free forever

No daily quota, no signup, no watermark — convert as many PNGs as you need.

  • Works on mobile

Convert PNG screenshots taken on your phone to smaller JPGs directly inside the mobile browser.

How It Works

PNG to JPG conversion is two clicks. Nothing leaves your device.

  1. 1

    Upload your PNG file

Drag and drop the PNG into the tool, or browse from your device. The original PNG is not modified.

  2. 2

    Pick the JPG quality

Choose a quality preset. The default (around 85) is a good balance — smaller than the PNG but visually identical for most photographs.

  3. 3

    Download the JPG

Save the converted JPG. The file is typically a fraction of the original PNG size.

When PNG to JPG is the right move

PNG is the right choice when an image has sharp edges, text, or transparency: logos, icons, UI screenshots, technical diagrams. JPG is the right choice when an image is a natural photograph: people, landscapes, products, food.

If you have a photograph saved as PNG, you are paying a 5–10x file size penalty for no visible benefit. Converting to JPG is the single most effective way to make the file dramatically smaller while keeping the image looking the same.

What you lose when you convert PNG to JPG

JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent pixels in the original PNG become white (or a colour you pick) in the JPG output. If transparency matters for the image — for example, a logo with a transparent background — switch to WebP instead, or keep the PNG.

JPG also uses lossy compression. At very low quality settings (below 60), you may see blocky compression artefacts in flat-coloured areas. At the default 85 setting, you should not be able to tell the JPG and PNG apart on a typical screen.

How PNG to JPG conversion works in this tool

The PNG is decoded by the browser into a canvas, and the canvas is then re-encoded as a JPG using the native image encoder with the chosen quality setting. No server, no upload, no plugin.

Transparent pixels are flattened against a white background by default. If you want a different background colour, fill the PNG with that colour in any image editor before conversion.

Privacy and use cases

PNG to JPG conversion is often used on screenshots, scanned documents, and personal photographs. iLoveeIMG converts files inside your browser, so there is no exposure to third-party servers.

Closing the tab discards everything from memory, and no log of the conversion is kept anywhere.
